It's a heat wave in Ireland!  For the next week or so, it will hit the high 60s and low 70s.  I heard a gentlemen in the office explain to a visitor not to form an impression of Ireland from this weather!  Unfortunately for me I did not pack for this lovely surprise and had to buy a dress this morning to wear to work today.  I wore the one and only outfit I brought for warmer weather yesterday and was at a loss for what to wear.  Luckily (or unluckily if you are my bank account), I live above a shopping centre with a Dunnes department store that opens at 8:30am.  Today is a special day because I get to tour the Russell Library on campus. I've been told it's the closest you can get to the library from the Harry Potter movies without actually seeing the one where they filmed! For those of you who know about my obsession with libraries, you'll understand how exciting this is!

I'm not quite sure I understand all of the Irish fashion trends.  One in particular has me baffled.  We have been having unseasonably wonderful weather and everywhere I go I see men and boys in swim trunks.  And they don't seem to be going to the pool or the beach (one was on his way to the airport, another out for a grocery shop).  It seems to be just another part of the male wardrobe.  I'll have to investigate this a bit more.
